Spring Spirit

We had a great February, and our kids are looking forward to spring. We are celebrating with a Spirit Week planned for the week of March 17. Check out the schedule below.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher, school counselor, grade level principal, or me with any questions.

Thanks,

Erin

Cheerleading Tryouts

Upcoming 7th and 8th graders interested in cheer for the 2025-2026 school year, tryout packets are available in the middle school office. Clinics will take place March 17, 18, and 19 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. at North Royalton High School. Tryouts will take place at NRMS (this is a change) on Friday March 21 at 7:00 p.m.  In the packet you will find a QR code for a survey student-athletes will need to complete.

Dress Code Reminder

The sun is out and temperatures are rising…so it’s dress-code-reminder time! Please know that the most common dress code infractions we see in school involve students wearing:

  1. Shirts that do not cover a student’s torso: whether or not this is the style, it is not acceptable for school.

  2. Shorts that are too short: please know there are shorts on the market that meet finger-tip length.

Students can find the entire dress code in their school agenda. We will be asking students to change if we see body parts we shouldn’t see. These conversations are not the best part of anyone’s day, but we will hold students accountable.

6th Grade Take Your Child to Work

Take Your Child to Work Day is April 24. NRMS Recognizes this day as an opportunity for our 6th graders to explore careers. 6th grade teams will follow up with student families; please expect to see a permission slip in the coming weeks.

Ohio State Testing

It’s almost that time of year again…All students at NRMS will participate in the ELA (reading/writing) and math state testing during the month of April. Additionally, students in grades 5 and 8 will also take a science assessment. Below you will see our specific testing days. If you know your student will have a scheduled absence on these days, please let us know so we can plan accordingly. I am confident that our students will do a great job on the upcoming assessments.
