September Happenings
We’ve had another great week at NRMS. Our students are starting to see some new opportunities to grow in their contributions to the NRMS community. Student Council Applications are out for grades 5-7, our Fall Fundraiser is in progress, and Wednesday is Red, White, and Blue day in remembrance of September 11.
During the week of September 16-20, 2024, NRMS will be taking part in START WITH HELLO week! This is an exciting week that will offer students opportunities to learn how to connect with new people, and help one another when they may feel disconnected. Our Counseling Dept. and I will share more about our student activities as we get closer to Sept. 16.
Thank you so much for coming out to our NRMS Open House Night. Our staff loves the opportunity to connect with our student families.
As we move forward with the school year, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher, school counselor, grade level principal, or me with any questions.
Thanks,
Erin Calabrese
No one grows in their comfort zone.
Student Council Applications
NRMS is looking for students who want to become leaders for our student body. Student Council Applications have been available all week! Our Student Council Representatives help coordinate fundraisers like the Kindness Walk, the NRMS Food Drive, and much more. Encourage your student-leader to apply ASAP.
Grades 6-8 Violence Prevention and Belonging Lessons
Last year our state introduced the Safety and Violence Education Students (SAVE Students) Act, or Ohio House Bill 123, which mandates that students in grades 6-12 receive one class period of instruction annually for each of the following topics: social inclusion, violence prevention and suicide prevention. The purpose of this instruction is to educate our students on these critical topics and empower them to recognize and respond appropriately to such situations. Please read the linked letter to learn more.
Picture Day
Picture Day is coming up for our students:
Sept. 10 - Picture Day for grades 5 & 6
Sept. 11 - Picture Day for grades 7 & 8
