Nick Wysocki, a sixth-grade science teacher at North Royalton Middle School (NRMS), was recognized as the Teacher of the Year. He has worked with the District for 10 years.
According to Principal Erin Calabrese… Many of you already know that Nick is an excellent communicator and team leader. He regularly calls parents, sends schedules to the office, and makes sure everyone attached to Champion students knows of changes or events that will occur in their day. His professional preparation, curiosity, and work ethic are second to none. He crafts lessons and curriculum with students at the top of his mind. He uses data to differentiate to meet individual student needs, and he makes each student feel like they can succeed in his classroom. He schedules virtual field trips to expand student learning. He presents at the Ohio Middle Level Association conferences. He is a collaborative and well-organized Teacher-Based Team member and a role model for his students. We know how lucky we are to have Nick as a member of our NRMS community.
Laurie Lang, an educational aide at North Royalton Elementary School (NRES), was recognized as the Support Person of the Year. She has worked with the District for 11 years. “Laurie is the consummate professional who always has a smile on her face and a positive attitude toward everyone she comes in contact with," said Principal Kirk Pavelich. "She works to build positive and meaningful relationships with all of the students she comes in contact with. We are lucky to have her on our team at NRES!"
