Parker Baumann, a junior at North Royalton High School, is making strides in the field of computer networking through his enrollment in the Computer Networking Academy (CNA) at Cuyahoga Valley Career Center (CVCC). Under the guidance of instructor Tim Moore, Parker is gaining hands-on experience with hardware, a key factor in his decision to join the program over software development.
His enthusiasm for technology has led him to explore building and dismantling computers, with his next goal being to construct his own. Beyond the classroom, Parker has been actively involved in Business Professionals of America (BPA) and serves as the CVCC Student Ambassador for North Royalton. In this role, he recently traveled to Columbus to advocate for Career and Technical Education (CTE) funding and will take his advocacy efforts to Washington, D.C., next year.
In addition to his technical pursuits, Parker is a team captain for North Royalton High School’s Esports Club. His advice to future students is to embrace new experiences. “I was skeptical at first about attending CVCC, but I love the change of pace and the unique environment,” he shared.
With a promising future in hardware or network administration ahead, Parker continues to make an impact both academically and beyond.
