North Royalton High School teacher Jeff Rhodes and student Naisha Chopra have been recognized for their outstanding achievements in computing and technology education.

Jeff Rhodes, a dedicated educator at North Royalton High School, has been named a recipient of the NCWIT AiC Educator Award, a prestigious honor recognizing his commitment to encouraging students facing barriers to participation in technology. As part of this distinguished community of over 1,000 award recipients nationwide, Rhodes will receive a $250 cash prize from the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) and the opportunity to apply for professional development funding this summer.

Adding to the school’s accolades, student Naisha Chopra, junior, has been selected as a 2025 NCWIT Aspirations in Computing High School Award Ohio Affiliate Winner. This award celebrates her aptitude and aspirations in technology and computing, as demonstrated by their computing experience, computing-related extracurricular activities, leadership experience, tenacity in the face of barriers to access, and future plans. Chopra will receive an engraved award, customized medal, certificate, and numerous scholarship and internship opportunities.  She will be inducted into the AiC Community, a national network of peers, supported by professionals and volunteers. 

Both honorees will be recognized at the NCWIT Awards Ceremony on April 12 at the Quest Conference Center in Westerville, Ohio, where they will join other exceptional students and educators from across the state.
