Joshua Lyons is a junior at North Royalton High School and is enrolled in CVCC’s Architectural and MechanicalDesign (AMD) program instructed by Erik Ward. Joshua decided to attend CVCC after visiting the school on a field trip and discussing the opportunity with his mom.
“I’m not quite sure what I want to do after graduation, but I’ve always loved architecture and building things. I figured attending CVCC would allow me to acquire important and helpful hands-on skills that would help me figure out what I want to do post grad. Plus, my mom thought it was a great idea. Lol!” - Joshua Lyons
Joshua has really enjoyed building items in class using a variety of different tools such as a saw, mallet, hammer, and gluing pieces together to create something new.
After graduation, Joshua plans to attend college, but isn’t quite sure whether he’ll go for business, architecture, or something totally unrelated. Regardless, he’s giving his time at CVCC his all and he is so glad he’s learning such valuable hands-on skills in a program that he enjoys.
Joshua’s advice to current and future students is study, study, study! Outside of academics, Joshua enjoys lifting, carpentry, enjoying good food, and is also on his high school’s football, track, and wrestling team.
