Homecoming Dance Saturday

Homecoming is this Saturday, 7pm to 10pm.  Tickets can be purchased via Hometown Ticketing.

Breathalyzing and School Dances

This year North Royalton High School will begin implementing a process of breathalyzing students as they enter our dances.  Our goal is to help keep students safe before and during school events.  In the end, we are not looking to catch students drinking, but are trying to give students another reason to say “No” when presented with the choice to drink.  This was discussed with and demonstrated for students at our recent class meetings.

Many of our neighboring districts have been using breathalyzers prior to dances and other school events for years and we have been able to learn from their experiences.  We have purchased modern breathalyzers that allow for a fast, simple, non-contact approach and will begin using them at Homecoming.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Mr. Osborne.

PTA Reflections Contest

The annual Reflections Contest is again upon us.  This is a great opportunity for our students to show their creative side in the areas of dance, music, literature, photography, film production and visual arts.  The theme this year is "I am Hopeful Because..."  More information can be found here.  Application forms and detailed entry information can be found here.

PSAT and National Merit Scholar Qualifying Test for Juniors

This year the optional PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholar Qualifying Test) will be given on Wednesday, October 18th, starting at 7:30 a.m. at North Royalton High School. The test will last approximately 2.5 - 3 hours. The PSAT/NMSQT will only be given to 11th grade students who register for the test.  The cost of the exam is $18 and will be added to your child’s school fees after they have taken the test.  We will be on a late start testing bell schedule for this day.

The PSAT/NMSQT is a great way to practice and receive online recommendations for the SAT, as well as explore careers and major choices. The PSAT/NMSQT also gives junior students a chance to qualify for national scholarships. There are over $100 million worth of scholarships to be awarded to students this year.

If interested in registering for the PSAT/NMSQT, a parent/guardian must fill out the following Google Form found HERE. The deadline to register is Friday, September 29th. If you have any questions, please contact the high school counseling office at 440-582-7810.

Note: All 9th and 10th grade students will be taking the PSAT on this same day, Wednesday, October 18th.. No registration will be required for 9th and 10th graders.

School Messenger and Automated Attendance Calls

North Royalton City Schools continues to work to streamline its parent communications and notifications. The District will be utilizing School Messenger to communicate with parents.

The district utilizes an automatic calling system for school absences. If your child is not in attendance and you have not notified your child’s school of their absence, you will receive a phone call letting you know that your child is absent and that you need to contact the school regarding your child’s attendance status.

The phone numbers that will appear should you receive one of these calls from the high school  are:  440-582-7804 and 440-582-7801.  Please save these numbers in your phone so that you can easily identify this call.
