North Royalton High School (NRHS) has received $10,000 in grant funding from the Veale Youth Entrepreneurship Forum (VYEF) to support the school’s entrepreneurship programs for the upcoming 2023-2024 academic year.
The Veale Foundation was founded in 1964 by Harriet and Tinkham Veale as a way to improve the quality of life for community members through charitable donations made to organizations in Northeast Ohio. As part of the Veale Foundation, VYEF was established in 2012 to help students develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
Funding from VYEF will go toward supporting entrepreneurial classes, clubs, and initiatives at NRHS. Some of the programs that will receive support include NRHS’s Entrepreneurship Class, which provides students the foundation to own and operate their own business; Investing Club, which meets weekly and prepares students to participate in The Stock Market Challenge contest; guest presentations from business owners as well as field trips to local businesses; and the introduction of a school store, “The Bears Swag Shop,” which is a collaborative effort between the entrepreneurship, accounting, work skills, and art classes.
VYEF’s support will help foster and grow students’ entrepreneurial spirits, setting them up with a solid foundation to pursue their business goals during and after their time at NRHS.
