North Royalton City Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of two new high school athletic trainers for the District. The trainers were approved by the Board of Education at the June 12 regular meeting.
Chelsea Kuntz, AT, M.Ed., ATC is the new senior athletic trainer. She has been with the Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine Department for 13 years. Previously, she worked at Wickliffe High School and Buckeye High School for 12 years. Kuntz graduated from Ithaca College with an undergraduate degree in athletic training and attended Cleveland State University for a Master's of Education in Exercise Science. She is involved in many organizations at the Cleveland Clinic including both the student aide workshop group and CPR workgroup. She is interested in research and has presented case studies on behalf of the Cleveland Clinic at both local and national conferences. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, hiking, and spending time with her young daughter and husband. “I am excited to join the North Royalton City School District and provide our athletes with outstanding medical care,” said Kuntz.
Scott Bryan MPA, AT also is a new certified athletic trainer for the District. He has been an athletic trainer with Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine for 19 years. He previously worked at Wellington High School. Prior to the Cleveland Clinic, he served as a staff athletic trainer for Grand Valley State University. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in both sports medicine and exercise physiology from Ohio Northern University and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Grand Valley State University. He received his board certification in 2002 and is currently licensed to practice in Ohio. “I am excited to begin a new chapter at North Royalton City Schools providing quality medical care,” said Bryan.
“The North Royalton City School District and Athletic Department are very excited to continue our relationship with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and welcome Chelsea and Scott to the North Royalton community,” said Athletic Director Bo Kuntz. “The experience and wealth of knowledge they bring to the athletic department is outstanding. We also would like to welcome back our middle school athletic trainer Tarryn Hardgrove.”
