Emma Kraynik is a senior at North Royalton High School and is enrolled in Cuyahoga Valley Career Center (CVCC’s) Sports Medicine Exercise Science (SMES) program instructed by Mr. Fahey. Emma wanted to explore what the SMES program could offer, as she has an interest in occupational and physical therapy. Attending CVCC’s SMES program has confirmed that it is the field for her. She appreciates how hands on and different the program is from traditional school. The anatomy component of the program has been challenging, however it is critical to the curriculum.

Overall, Emma is thankful that CVCC has given her the opportunity to meet others who have similar interests to her. Additionally, the lab component of the program is fantastic! Emma participated in HOSA at CVCC as well. She also is a member of Student Council, Yearbook, Key and Letterman’s Club at North Royalton High School, as well as plays soccer. In her free time, Emma enjoys spending time with friends and family. After high school, Emma plans on going to college at Ohio University and study exercise science and sports medicine. She plans on becoming a physical therapist or physician’s assistant.
