North Royalton High School staff celebrated their students’ second quarter success in person and with their families on Wednesday, February 8 in the Community Room. Families were treated to a continental breakfast.

Teachers nominated students in four categories (Achievement, Character, Engagement, and Leadership). They recognized these students and wrote personal nominations as to why they deserved their awards.

At the event, every nomination was read aloud and the student was then surprised with finding out who nominated him/her. Every award winner was presented with a certificate by Principal Sean Osborne. The gift this quarter was a color changing cup and a magnet presented by Assistant Principal Kristin Hubbell.

Vivian, take that enthusiasm and knowledge with you as you advance through high school and college, and you will do great things in life!

She is an active participant in class and is not afraid to ask questions when an idea or assignment is not clear. She most often achieves great success, but when she does have the occasional stumble, she doesn't give up and instead figures out how to adapt her approach. Leodora is an outstanding example of what all students should strive to be. Keep up the excellent work ethic, Leodora!

  • Mr. Joe Sieracki

Hunter Kucharski - Many students fear being called on in class for various reasons. One student who is not is Hunter Kucharski. He's my "go to guy" when the crickets are chirping after a difficult question is posed. What I love is Hunter's fearlessness in answering. Although he's not right all the time, the fact he's engaged and is confident in who he is as a person demonstrates to his classmates that one can make an attempt at an answer and still be comfortable if it's wrong. He's a true pleasure to have in class. Keep it up, Hunter!

  • Mr. Sean Drvenkar

Joseph Kulig - I can teach where a comma goes. I can instruct how to elevate sentence structure. But I can’t necessarily teach someone to care. To think. To wonder. And these are all traits that Joey brought to my class this semester. It was truly inspiring to watch him ponder the ideas presented in class and then respond to them in the most thoughtful way. He cares not just about his grade, but about the acquisition of knowledge and being a good person. If all people could gain that same sense of curiosity, ah, well then the world would be something special. It was an honor to work with Joey and learn from him this semester. His future is limitless.

  • Señora Laura Sandy

Dominic Schroeder - Dominic, you are a student who knows a little bit of something about everything. I was amazed that with each new topic we covered, you had prior knowledge from reading it or hearing it someplace through the years. I was impressed because you are on the quiet side, as a student, but when called upon, you were always spot on. Keep your curiosity up as you move on to the post secondary setting. Take in all of the information that is around you. I'm convinced you will be a successful adult because you will be able to recall all of the facts about finance and so many other topics too. Congratulations on a very successful semester in Personal Finance.

  • Mrs. Kriste Smith

Nicholas Sperber - Nick Sperber had an amazing turnaround in effort and achievement for the second quarter. He began to focus more in class and made great progress on catching up on missing assignments.
