The North Royalton High School Marching Band made a splash during their spring break trip to Orlando, Florida, where they had the prestigious opportunity to march down Main Street U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom.

After auditioning for the coveted parade slot, the band spent the winter months meticulously preparing for this once-in-a-lifetime performance. Under the direction of David Vitale, the 200-member ensemble honed their skills and polished their routine to perfection.

"It takes a lot of work to prepare for this and to take 200 students down to Florida, but we are very fortunate to have been chosen to perform at the Magic Kingdom," said Vitale. "It is always exciting to perform at such an amazing venue and for such a huge crowd."

Students in the North Royalton High School Marching Band always say their performance at the Magic Kingdom is one of the top highlights of their high school experience, capping off a successful year for the school's acclaimed music program.

Upon returning from spring break, the band immediately set their sights on their next big challenge - the OMEA State Band Adjudicated Event, which will be hosted right here in North Royalton on April 19 and 20.

"We are tremendously proud that all four of our concert bands have qualified for the State Finals," said Vitale. "This is the result of a lot of hard work by the students and the directors, and this event is the culmination of all the learning, rehearsing, practicing, and skill development that has gone on all year. We are very excited to have all four concert bands performing this weekend."

The OMEA Northeast Region State Band Adjudicated Event is free and open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend these world-class performances by the top bands in the state.

"The dedication and talent of our North Royalton High School Band students and staff is something of which we are very proud," said Vitale. "We are looking forward to celebrating the band’s continued success at the upcoming State Band Adjudicated Event."
