CV CC student

Kolten English, a junior at North Royalton High School, is currently enrolled in CVCC's Building and Property Maintenance (BPM) program under the instruction of Jason Hance. Kolten's passion for fixing things led him to join the BPM program, where he could explore his interests while gaining valuable life skills.

Among the modules covered in class, plumbing stands out as Kolten's favorite, while electrical work poses more of a challenge. "I thoroughly enjoyed learning about plumbing, especially the hands-on experience of soldering copper pipes," he shares. Interestingly, Kolten's father works as a plumber, adding a personal connection to his favorite module.

“Mr. Hance is an excellent instructor who always keeps the class lively and fun. I appreciate the opportunity to meet students from different school districts. I really enjoy my time at CVCC and I maintain perfect attendance," Kolten remarks.

Offering advice to incoming CVCC students, Kolten emphasizes the importance of seeking assistance without hesitation. "Don't be nervous and don't hesitate to ask for help. Although it requires effort and adjustment, attending CVCC has been incredibly rewarding. The BPM program feels more like going to work and preparing for a career than attending class."

Looking ahead, Kolten aims to further explore his interests and determine his career path, whether it aligns with plumbing or a related field. Beyond academics, Kolten is an active member of the North Royalton High School football team and enjoys working out, doing yard work, and holding a part-time job at Giant Eagle.
