A Bear Update - March 2024

March 5, 2024

Hello Bear Families.

In our February Board of Education meeting, we continued to discuss different approaches to transportation for the 2024-2025 school year.  It is clear that we need to change our approach but we have not made a final decision on what that will look like at this time.  Please be aware that changes are coming and we will get those changes communicated as soon as possible.

Winter sports teams are currently competing in tournaments, while spring sports have officially begun. Congratulations to our girls' bowling team for finishing 11th out of 18 teams at district tournaments this past Monday.  Wrestler Mannix Wasco is headed to States and Luke Koprowski is going as an alternate.  Wrestler Sophia Antonio also is headed to States.

Once weather permits this spring, the joint tennis court replacement project with the City will begin. The plan involves installing new tennis courts plus adding dedicated pickleball courts and a basketball court. We appreciate our continued partnership with the city as we work together on this project.

Please note the elementary school will NOT serve as a polling location for the March 19 election. Thanks to support from Mayor Antoskiewicz, we will not have to cancel school that day. Wards 5 Precincts A, B, C and D will now vote at North Royalton City Hall.  Royal View WILL remain open as a polling location for those who vote there.

Finally, the District is teaming up with the City of North Royalton to host an exciting Solar Eclipse Bash on April 8 from 1-4 p.m. at Serpentini Stadium. We'll have food trucks, bounce houses, activities, a DJ, and more. We'll also distribute free solar safety glasses while supplies last. We hope to see you there for this historic celestial event!
