North Royalton Elementary School carried on the tradition of honoring veterans in November started by Albion, Royal View, and Valley Vista Elementary Schools. The staff and students continue to take great pride in connecting with veterans within their families and community.
Families submitted names and photos of veterans with a personal connection to them. The school created a special video tribute that was shared on their website and social media on Veterans Day, November 11. The touching video honored both living veterans and those who have passed on.
In addition, the school hosted special breakfasts on November 9 and 10 to recognize veterans. Family, friends, and neighbors who served were invited to attend and wear hats or garments representing their military branch. Students wore red, white and blue and Scout uniforms.
“We are so grateful to all those who served our country,” said Principal Kirk Pavelich, North Royalton Elementary School. "Our veterans' videos and breakfasts gave us a chance to show our appreciation and teach students about service and sacrifice."
