During a surprise presentation at North Royalton Middle School, intervention specialist Alison Smolinski was recognized as one of the Ohio Lottery Teachers of the Month.
One of her students, Rocco Wood, nominated her for this recognition.
“I feel so grateful that my buddy, Rocco, thought of me outside of school and nominated me for this award,” said Smolinski. “It’s so humbling and I am very appreciative.”
The nomination from Rocco and his mom said they appreciated Miss Smolinski keeping Rocco motivated and helping him find success in reading. “She is a really good teacher,” said Rocco. “She helps me a lot in my classes and every day she is so happy.”
“I love coming to work every day and getting to see my students’ success and the little wins we get to make together,” said Smolinski.
