October is here and the end of the first quarter of school is right around the corner. It has been a great start to the school year and it is hard to believe one quarter is almost complete.
Election Day is November 7, 2023. As a reminder, North Royalton Elementary School and Royal View will both be used by the Board of Elections as polling sites. Because of that, we have decided to have a non-student day at the elementary school that day. We have not made a decision on the primary election in March, as we want to see what the November election looks like at the elementary school without students.
Knowing that there will be a large voter turnout for the November 2024 election, the District has already planned to not have school on November 5, 2024. We are not reducing the number of instructional days by not having school that day, we are placing an additional school day in the calendar to replace that day. The Board approved the 2024-25 school calendar at the October Board Meeting and it is available on our website.
The Board also recently approved our ongoing partnership with the North Royalton Police Department for our three school resource officers and our therapy dog. We appreciate the hard work of our three SROs and the opportunity to have a therapy dog available for our students.
As I stated in the last message, we are proud to have achieved 5 Stars, the highest rating possible on the state report card. In addition to that, the most recent data released from the state also shows us as the lowest cost per student district in Cuyahoga County. We are proud to provide an outstanding experience for our students while remaining fiscally responsible to our residents.
