Cuyahoga Valley Career Center's Student Spotlight

Seth Mack is a senior at North Royalton High School and is enrolled in Cuyahoga Valley Career Center's (CVCC) Construction Trades program instructed by Paul Yuravak. Initially, Seth was interested in accounting, but after much thought he decided he wanted to go into construction and follow in his dad’s footsteps of owning and maintaining rental properties. Seth really appreciates how hands-on the program is, allowing him to gain real-world experience within the field.

“Seth has maintained fantastic grades and attendance. He is one of my advanced students and will be joining me and a very select group of seniors on high-end projects out in the community this year.”

-Paul Yuravak, Construction Trades Instructor

Seth is also the Head Chair of Community Service for the SkillsUSA Local Chapter. TheSkillsUSA organization is one of Seth’s favorite things about attending CVCC because it’s enjoyable and the teacher, Julia Jakubczak, makes everything fun.

After graduation, Seth plans to attend college to earn a degree in business and then complete a two-year program in HVAC and plumbing to gain all the knowledge necessary for eventually taking over his dad’s business.

Seth’s advice to current and future students is to get your hands dirty! Your time at CVCC will only help you. Outside of academics, Seth enjoys basketball, running, weightlifting, and works part-time at Raising Cane’s.
