Four outstanding North Royalton High School (NRHS) students are finalists in the inaugural DePaul’s Blue Book: Best American High School Writing. DePaul University’s Blue Book is a one-of-a-kind annual anthology that features the best writing of high school students from across the country. Featured pieces include poetry, fictional stories, essays, newspaper articles, and even podcasts that are selected by Professor Chris Solís Green and graduate student editors in DePaul’s English, Journalism, and Writing, Rhetoric & Discourse departments.

This year, in the 2022 Anthology, four NRHS students and their works are finalists:  “Epilogue” by Nyah Palmer, “Clocks” by Allen Winer, “The Rainbow Effect” by Ryan Cutright, and “The American Dream” by Allison Krzywicki.

“While their pieces won’t be published,” said Green, “the students' names and the titles of their work will be acknowledged in the Finalists section of the anthology. Our editors read thousands of submissions, and only a small percentage of pieces became Finalists.”

The free digital copy of Blue Book will be available at https://blogs.depaul.edu/bluebook/ in May 2023, with free physical copies being published in June 2023.
