Important Immunization Changes
For the 2010-2011 School Year
Ohio Law requires that children who attend a public or non-public school be immunized against certain vaccine-preventable illnesses to help prevent the spread of communicable diseases amongst the children and the public. Beginning this upcoming 2010-2011 school year, the Ohio Department of Health at the recommendation of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has issued TWO aditional immunization requirements:
These immunizations must be received prior to the start of the 2010-2011 school year. Please contact your physician to schedule an appointment or vaccines are available through the Cuyahoga County Board of Health (CCBH). To schedule an appointment throught the CCBH, please call (216) 201-2001. Once your child has received the vaccine, please forward a copy of your child's immunization record to the school. According to the Ohio Department of Health (2010), "As with other school immunization requirements, students who do not provide documentation of this immunization are subject to exclusion from school". If you should have any questions, please contact Michele Prezenkowski RN, District Health Coordinator, at (440) 582-9067.

Family Passes

In helping the NRHS Athletic Department the Valley Vista Office is selling Family Passes for $12.00. These passes are good for an entire family (mom, dad and children in the immediate family) to attend one sporting event of their choice. The passes are a very good deal.
Parents, in the elementary and middle school you now have the option to pay for lunches online via a credit or debit card. By visiting this website https://www.mynutrikids.com/ you may add money to your childs account and eliminate the possibility of lost cash or check. It is quick and easy.
The North Royalton School District has implemented a Door Access security system throughout the buildings.
All exterior doors throughout our elementary and middle school buildings will be locked. The elementary buildings will be locked from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and the Midlle School is locked from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. to ensure the safety of our staff and students.
The Middle School front (atrium) and north (main gym) entrance doors will have open access between 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. for student arrival. These same doors as well as others may be open after 3:00 p.m. based upon functions, activities, or sporting events that may be scheduled in our building. If you need access between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. please proceed to the main (front) entrance and push the speaker button and an office staff member will answer your call. Once they answer your call, you can identify yourself by talking into the speaker. The office personnel will then give you access into the building.
Additionally, IP Video surveillance have been added to the three elementary buildings and the middle school to give the school office a visual view of who is requesting entrance into the building. These cameras record all activity in their view 24/7 for reference.
The three elementary buildings have added one additional locked door to control access. Albion has added the rear playground door and Valley Vista has added their main playground doors. These doors will be locked 24/7 and can only be open by staff authorized to enter these doors. All parents and students will need to enter through the main doors. Royal View added a locked door at their far rear entrance.
Staff members have been issued identification badges which they will be wearing at all times. This will also help identify staff within the building. We will continue to have all parents, guardians, volunteers, and visitors, etc. “sign in” and “sign out” in the main office, as well as wear a visitor identification patch at all times which can be clearly seen by all personnel.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in making the Middle School a safer environment for our students and staff.
