Royal View Elementary in North Royalton Receives U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon

September 9, 2010 . . . Royal View Elementary in North Royalton is a Nationally Recognized School of Excellence! The U.S. Department of Education today announced the winners of its highly prestigious Blue Ribbon recognition.

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan recognized 304 schools this morning in his Washington, D.C. offices. Students, teachers, staff, and visitors of the school watched the announcement live in their classrooms at 9 am. There were many cheers, claps, and excitement as Royal View Elementary was announced as a Blue Ribbon School.

The award honors public and private elementary, middle and high schools whose students achieve at very high levels or have made significant progress and helped close gaps in achievement.

“We are so proud at Royal View to receive the tremendous honor of being named a National Blue Ribbon School for 2010. The focus and goal of all teachers and staff members is to do all that we can each day, in every area of the school, to make all students successful,” said Royal View Elementary Principal Dr. Andrea Lasko. “By working together with our parents and the community we have found that great things can be accomplished. Student achievement and happiness is truly at the heart of all we do. The National Blue Ribbon Award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our fine staff at Royal View, our supportive parents and community!” The school is planning a celebration to be scheduled in the near future. Royal View will be honored at an awards ceremony November 15-16 in Washington, D.C.

NR Stadium Foundation
Contributed on September 1, 2010 by Jason Fullington, Network & Systems Coordinator/Webmaster

The Stadium Renovation Project is a collaborative effort between the North Royalton Stadium Foundation and the North Royalton Board of Education. The North Royalton community has always taken great pride in the school’s athletic programs. Since 1940 our outdoor stadium has hosted countless soccer, football, band and track events. As you know, our community has grown significantly over the past 70 years, but our stadium has not kept pace with that change and growth. The North Royalton Stadium Foundation’s sole purpose is to privately raise, with no taxpayer money, the necessary funds allowing us to renovate the High School Stadium with state-of-the-art synthetic turf and an eight lane all-weather track.

Labels for Education

Royal View is again participating in the Campbell’s Labels for Education program for the 2010-2011 school year. Labels for Education awards free educational equipment to our school in exchange for proofs of purchase from the Campbell family of brands. It’s a fun, easy program where students, families and members of the community can work together for our school.

For a list of eligible products click the link below or you can visit the website at www.labelsforeducation.com for more information. BIC and Pop-Secret brands are new partners in the program this year and can also be redeemed. We are required to submit the UPC code or the cap (V8 products) to receive our points.

There are collection baskets in each classroom, so you can send your labels and caps in at any time. If you are able to cut out the UPC part of the labels and send in only that portion, it is a tremendous help. PTA will sponsor a contest later in the school year with additional information being sent home at that time.

Thank you in advance for your participation in the Labels for Education program.
